Principal’s Message

Lunch Buddies
Eastfield Family and Friends:
Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!  Our students, families, and staff make our school an amazing place to be part of and  grow together.  It is an honor to serve this community as principal.  I am very proud of the work that goes on everyday.  Everyone works hard from the teachers to the students to the families! My favorite parts of the job are all the smiles, hugs, and seeing students in their classrooms learning. Best job ever!

What Makes EGMS Unique?
  • School of Choice- we have an open enrollment policy for any family interested in EGMS
  • Balanced Calendar-we operate on the 45/15 split-9 weeks in session with a 3 week break Fall, Winter, and Spring.  Students enjoy a full month of vacation in the summer.  Our students are in school the exact number of days as traditional calendar sites.  We choose to balance our breaks throughout the school year.
  • Intercession Camps-because of our balanced calendar we are able to extend learning opportunities by providing 36 additional hours of Reading or STEM Camps during our Fall Intercession  and 36 hours during our Spring Intercession
  • Splash-We are a Dual Language, Spanish Immersion Site.  Parents can choose to enroll students in our language program.  We have one Splash class at every grade level K-5th.
  • Magnet School-We are a global magnet school.  We are globally themed with the following characteristics: Splash, math delivery follows the philosophy of teaching from Singapore, and we integrate a global theme big idea each nine weeks across content.
  • PreK/Headstart- We proudly host one NC PreK classroom for four year old students and one Headstart classroom for three year old students.
